    I recently uninstalled McAfee and installed Norton Anti Virus. Whenever I tried to accept a file transferred from my fds at MSN Messenger, it asks me to scan the file for virus. However, I dont seem to locate the right exe file that can scan for me as McAfee mcshield.exe does.

    Does anyone know what file to use?

    Thanks =)

    During installation Norton should have integrated this in Explorer.
    Rightclick the new file, select 'Scan with Norton (or Symantec)'

    It is not in IE GUI...

    WINDOWS Explorer, not INTERNET Explorer.

    so what does Windows Explorer have anything to do with MSN Messenger? I am talking about a virus scan option under Tools->File Transfer "Scan files for viruses using _______".

    For my home computer which uses McAfee, the executable file that runs whenever I accept a file transfer is "mcvsftsn.exe". I did not seem to find a compatible executible antivirus file from symantec Corporate Edition....

    Any idea??? Thanks -)

    try navw32.exe
    But the Autoprotect function should include scanning Messenger and the like.
