Need a general printer recommendation

  1. I have an HP All-In-One 7310xi and the software sucks. Stops working, have to reinstall, etc etc. I've come to hate HP.

Which is why I'm looking for a printer recommendation from the community. Requirements are: software that doesn't suck, general printing, copying, prints decent photos, and NO fax capability required. I'm open to any brand except HP.

Canon makes some good printers. Their problem is that they are somewhat expensive. Actually I found a decent Canon at a resonable price here: http://dealnews.com/prices/44312530.html

Epson printers are cheap, replacement ink is also cheap is you buy generic. The problem with Epsons are unless you print pretty often the heads clog and you end up using as much ink cleaning the heads as you do actually printing stuff.

So I guess if you print often, the Epson will be the cheapest route. But otherwise I don't think you can go wrong with that Canon I linked, I have one very similar to it and have never had any problems.
