CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 940
RAM- OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM 1066

More than I expected to pay, but I feel more confident now about building my PC.
Thanks to all who helped me =DD.

*was going to get the Acer 23'' monitor, but this one is on sale and specs are slightly better and same price

Cool, everything looks great, I'm sure you have another pc to chat with us as you build if you encounter any issues, we're here.

I see you have an ASUS mobo there paired with OCZ RAM; not a good thing to do.

If you haven't bought everything already, take a look at this build:
Grand Total = $990 approximately with free shipping on all items, and not counting any of the rebates.

It should be equally powerful compared to your currently-proposed system while being cheaper.

As Another side note :) hehe!

The only intel/Amd compatibility compatibility issues you will run in to is processor and motherboard.

Hard drives, graphics cards, power supplies, sound cards and most other stuff is cross platform and will have no issues running on either AMD or intel :)
