  1. My g/f's emachines motherboard died. It is an emachines t1221, here are some of its specs:
    CPU: Intel® Celeron® Processor 1.30GHz (w/256KB L2 cache)
Operating System: Genuine Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition
    Chipset: Intel® 810e chipset
    Memory: 128MB SDRAM
    Hard Drive: 20GB HDD
Optical Drives: 48x Max. CD-ROM Drive
    3.5" 1.44MB FDD
    Video: Intel® Direct AGP 3D (810e shared)
    Sound: AC '97 Audio
    Modem: 56K ITU v.92-ready Fax/Modem
    Peripherals: Keyboard, Mouse, Stereo Speakers
    Ports/Other: 4 USB ports (2 on front), 1 Serial, 1 Parallel, 2 PS/2, Audio-In & Out, MIDI/Game port, Mic-In & Head Phone jack on front, 3 PCI slots (2 available)
    Dimensions: 7.25"W x 14.125"H x 16"D

I searched through their parts section and found this replacement:
    http://parts.emachines.com/emachines/moreinfo.asp?product_id=68902

I have a few questions. Is there a cheaper replacement? What do I look for in a replacement? Like something I could go to Fry's (outpost.com) or best buy and get.

I searched ebay but since I don't know what I'm looking for [like the socket type] I'm uncertained as to what to buy.

Here's one I found on ebay:
