[Inactive] Need help with virus!

    Yes i have a dell latitude d600 w/ windows xp, recently a friend usuing the computer clicked on a antivirus software download that poped up while playing a face book game, i've removed this progran from a e machine i previously own but i cant access safe mode because the computer runs so slow now i can get it to load is there any way i can get in to safe mode ot remove this or another procedure i have thought of please help. thank you
