New guts and no video

Haven't built a machine since college, so I'd say I'm back to novice status. I threw together the following new and old hardware last night, but couldn't coax anything out of the video. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ASUS A8N-E MB nForce Ultra Athlon 64 (skt 939)
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (skt 939)
Abit RX600 Pro-HDTV PCI Express VC
2 ea Corsair DDR400 512 mB PC3200 Value Select memory
New Antec case and power supply (don't recall details)
1 year old CD-RW and floppy
60 GB IDE hard drive

I plan to get this system going and then add the ATI HDTV Wonder tuner and change the output from a monitor to my television, but can't even get that going. Once I do, will I be able to add a 300 GB SATA drive and continue using the IDE, or should I use one or the other?

Thanks all,

spdrcr
