A pci device is anything that plugs into a pci slot.

I wouldn`t go buying another soundcard, as you know that your soundcard works, when you tried it in a another computer.

The reason that I asked if you`d got any other pci devices, is to eliminate the possibility that your mobo`s pci slots are bad.

    Regards Howard :)

A pci device is a device that plugs into your pci slots on your motherboard. Pci stands for peripheral component interconnect, its the slot that is the most common type at the moment. Your motherboard will have at least 1 and possibly 7 or more. They are usually (but not always) black, white, or brown in colour and are mounted adjacent to the card slots in your case.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

If your system is a pre built such as Dell/Gateway/HP etc. Go to your computer manufacturers website and download and install the audio drivers for your particular model of computer.

If your system is custom built, then you need to go to your mobo manufacturers website and download the audio drivers for your particular model of mobo.

    Whats up dudes

Restart your computer, when its starting up press delete. That will bring you to a screen, go to integrated peripherals and you will see HD Audio etc. probably disabled, enable it and press F10 to save it

    Problem solved
    Peace

    Audio Devices not working

I had this issue and discovered that my Windows Audio service had shut down for some reason.

Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
then find the Windows Audio Service in the list
If it is stopped, restart it.

I wanna start by saying hello, I've recently had this problem twice now and both times it took different fixes i hope this helps everyone.

    1. goto control panel and then sound and audio devices if it says it detects no device try going to hardware should be the last tab, see if there is a device with a yellow "!" if so highlight that one and go into properties and then drivers, try to roll back the driver. That will solve a few of u guys who all of the sudden audio just quit working.

    2. you might just have the wrong audio driver installed as i did once. If your pc, motherboard, or soundcard came with a backup disk pop that baby in and goto
control panel once again select add hardware. once you do this check all your hardware the one without the right driver should have the yellow "!" if not you might have to target them all and press next it will tell you if the device driver is installed correctly if so just press back untill you find the one u need to fix click finish when u find it and it should startup the install wizard in the install wizard u need to have your pc search on the cd rom so make sure to select that don't look on the internet for the driver that never works.

    3. open control panel and goto admin. tools and services as posted befor check the microsoft audio one make sure its on automatic and also check to see if the "universal plug and play device host" is set to automatic.

    4. try the bios one from the post above to enter bios restart your pc and press delete on the first screen make sure all your audio functions are enabled in your bios.

This will happen from time to time with onboard sound. You must uninstall drivers if you see it in control panel, and reinstall the audio drivers from the mobo CD ,, GL,,

OK, i had the same problem for about 2 days now, BUT I FIXED IT WITHOUT ANY DOWNLOADS!! Heres how;; Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Service>(Should Be Under)>Windows Audio,,Click it once and then in the top left it will was say *Start* click it, if you now have sound it was because you disabled the sound somehow. Hope it Worx!!

Did you try to go check your control panel and click to sound then you can see if you have somethin there like mine, it says Realtek high definition audio. See if this would help?
If it still doesnt work, like what howard_hopkinso had said, you have to tell him the whole info of your system 'coz that helps them a lot.

are you using XP or vista? either one of them, you have to download an audio/sound driver that is compatible to your system.
    Like what nickc had said...
