No mixer devices? My sound isn't working...

please let us know what the computer u're running is. we have to have make and model of mobo or the manufacture and model, before we can give any help. If u want to look it sounds to me like u need to install the drivers for the sound.

Help??

Hi, I have a Dell Dimension 5150, running Windows XP, Pentium 4 processors

I had to restore my computer using the dell restoration disk, the only problem is that the restoration disk didn't come with the drivers. I have installed all the drivers I could, but I can't access volume control. It says that "there is no active device mixers", and to install it go to control panel... and somewhere else... it doesn't work at all. I installed the EVErest trial thing and here's what it says:

under multimedia:

-Windows Audio: it doesn't display anything
-PCI/PnP Audio: SigmaTel STAC9220 A1 @ Intel 82801GB ICH7 - High Definition Audio Controller [A-1] PCI


-HD Audio: Nothing displayed
-Open AL: Nothing displayed either.

Also if it helps when I go under device manager there is an option for other devices... and it says PCI device but there is a yellow "!" beside it, when i try to install/update it, it is unsuccessful

And under device manager when I go to sound, video, game controllers, all of the codecs/drivers are installed properly when I check, but the location is "unknown". So if you have any questions ask please, I really need some help. I have tried going to dell, and installing the drivers for audio that they have, but they either don't run and give me an error message, or just don't work. Please if you can HELP ME!!
