I already have AC. Solar panels ok. But MPPT + batteries + inverter need a separate room I don't have. This would raise my cost way more than $10K. AC will have to do for now.
I's a nice idea but didn't consider it when I build the house.

I was kidding well, on a new house and with the high energy prices in Europe, it is a good option. I'll build a house and I'm planning (for real) something like that. But there are some "small" solutions even for apartments / balconies with 400 and 800W panels + small inverter + batteries, in Europe they cost around 3000€ (everything)

Depending on country and laws some require a separate room for batteries. Some toxic fumes are produced when charging and for good reason they require a separated room and ventilation/filtration depending on batt tech.
