    Hi,
After my computer died i have purchased a new pentium 4 processor except it is 0.4ghz below my old one. The motherboard i am now using is a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L. Coulld i safely overclock this processor up to around 3.2 - 3.4ghz with an Arctic Freezer alpine 7 pro?
    Cheers,
    Sam

    Sadly, Yes.......

You should be able to get the speeds you mention with those components, but not much more. Just be sure to install a decent hardware monitor program. There should be one on your boards driver disc, if not there are downloads available here at Techspot.

It does seem as though you should have bought a newer CPU. Even the new dual core Celerons would probably out perform an old P4.
