When I try to play games such as Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2, Half-Life 2, or pretty much anything else the computer screen goes black. It does not restart but instead stays that way. I have also started to get just a completely blank blue screen. Also, in dxdiag, next to BIOS and system model it just says n/a.

    Specs:
    Ati Radeon 9600
    1.5 gigs of ram
80g and 120g Seagate Barracuda SATA
    MSI K8T Neo-FSR
    Amd Athlon 64 3200+
    Windows XP

    The latest bios HERE
States that it is an update to Update CPU ID. - which may also mean DxDiag info

    Latest update:
I finally had XP reinstalled, so now I have a completly clean computer. No dice, the games still keep crashing. I now believe it to be a hardware problem.

Other than Bios update - Do you think that you may try this ?

It could be a memory issue
