PC won't recognise secondary sata hdd (asus a7v8x mobo)

Hi there

I am trying to connect a secondary SATA HDD to me a7v8x ASUS mobo but cannot see the HDD in the bios.

It looks like I can see it in the CTRL-F array menu thing though...

Primary drive is SCSI.

Any help is much appreciated!

primary drive is SCSI ????? Do you mean IDE?

if it is SCSI - is it terminated at the end?
Why not add a second SCSI drive instead?

SATA controller is optional on this board. MomentumDJ's post is confusing... I'm reaching here. The SATA drive needs to be formatted before you can see it in Windows. If it is detected in the bios, once in Windows right click on the Control Panel name in the START list, and select Manage, Disk Management and right clict on the SATA drive. Select format
