Pinterest has a better male-to-female workforce ratio, but lags in ethnic diversity

There's nothing wrong with a diverse workforce, especially since the complexion of the US population is changing. The issue lies in qualified people of color and women who are denied jobs because of their skin color or sex and let's not pretend this does not happen. It's disingenuous to state that diversity is problem when discrimination is something experienced by many qualified individuals who are not white males.

I never suggested that there was anything inherently wrong with a diverse workforce. I specifically stated there is a problem with the politics that dominate the issue. I'd also challenge that it is equally unjust for qualified white males to be passed up because a company or institution feels the need to manage its diversity figures.

Diversity isn't a problem. As other commenters have pointed out in this thread and others, the topography of diversity across industries matches the statistics pertaining to education, work hours and reliability. The percentage of qualified people who are passed over solely on the basis of sex or race is not anywhere close to the levels suggested by Diversity™ practitioners. Only a ***** would pass up a superior candidate because he's non-white or she's female. This is not to suggest such discrimination does not occur, as it is an inescapable and natural human behavior. But workforce diversity (or the lack thereof) does not reflect injustice in the modern era; it directly reflects the average performance and qualifications of the population groups measured. Simply put, a majority white nation (the United States) does not have twice-elected "black" presidents and female CEOs in an environment of rampant discrimination. The problem with Diversity™ is that it ignores this. Instead, it vilifies businesses for making decisions that reflect the general environment and demonizes anyone bold enough to question it.

I have a question. Why is nobody on Foxconn's back for hiring almost 100% Chinese?

Your question stumped me, so I made a few phone calls. Apparently... Well, no. I'll just use a direct quote:

"Chinese vote not big enough. How you get this number?! Don't call back! click"
