    OH DAMN!

A little belated, but I got DSL about a week ago. It's full 512/1.5Mbit, with no such thing as any sort of "download cap"...pah!

What have I been doing with this fat pipe, you ask?

I'll let you decide for yourself ;)

BTW that uhh "Dial-Up Time"...heh, that's when AcidOsmosis and I tried to setup a VPN to play Battlefield Vietnam. Didn't work out too well though, I kept losing my internet connection...

Mine got "upgraded" from 10GB to 15GB per month & it's still 5€ per extra 5GB.

I found a provider who seems to offer a service without a monthly cap but the speed connection is much lower at 512/128 then 3360/128.

I have to wonder which of the speed/traffic is most important & which I'm willing to sacrifice.;)

Did I mention that I have a 2mbit downlink, 640 uplink and no monthly cap? And it only costing 72$ a month?

Oh, guess I've allready said that. But it's still a sweet deal :D

No question whatsoever man, go with the non capped. My 512 is indistinguishable for everyday use from anything faster, you only notice on big dls. And if you are dling stuff that you shouldn't be :) like movies, then its definately worth the extra time to be able to dl as many as you want, at least IMO. I don't think a jump from 512 to anything is really goign to show you any increase in gaming ability anyway if thats what you are going for.

Yeah I'm gonna look into it. There's no hurry since this contract still goes all the way until November & if I stop it before the end I have to pay the remaining months.:(

I've got ADSL, 256/512, no cap, for about two years now. I just discovered that my provider was kind enough to NOT mention that it now offers 256/1.5 Mbit for the same price I am paying, $50. Needless to say, I will have the upgrade in about a week, can't wait.
I was really hoping it would. I get a ping of 50 to 175 now, depending on what server I'm playing on.

But for the same price? Might as well get it.

Sounds good to me olefarte. I wish i can get my hands on those 1.5 mbit connections! They are still expensive down here with even less dl cap than my current a/c generally speaking.
