So my temp folder is corrupted. When I start up my pc i get multiple dialog boxes stating that specfic files in the temperary folder are corrupted, pls run a disk check. Done the disk check multiple times, still same issue.

I'm using Kaspersky antivirus 7.0. i went to update it and when it got to the c drive i had numerous fails to do so.

I went to the guide to removing virii etc and went to download avira here on TS and got this pop up

C:\Users\LINKED~1\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred.

I'm not sure how to move on to the next step w/o completing the first one.

deleted: Trojan program Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Delf.ajd File: F:\$RECYCLE.BIN\S-1-5-21-2078221851-1496855738-352524458-1000\$RGQXVI0.exe

This is what I found after looking, says it was deleted, but I dont know how to handle this.

Are your downloads being directed to that temp folder? That's what it reads like.

Make a desktop folder and download to there.

Hi supersmashbrada

Boot to Safe Mode only and do the below!

The issues can and are likely found is in System Restore so do the below

Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk- System Restore and create a new Restore point. Name it "Before cleanup at TechSpot".

Then Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Cleanup
Click OK to accept C:
Select all Boxes
Then click More Options
Here click System Restore and OK to "Are you sure" and the OK to Run.

As this runs it clears all but the most recent Restore Point but it does one other thing that can contain infested files and a huge amount of disk space.

It clears what is known as Shadow copies which are used by specialized back up programs.

This is if you have the Volume Shadow Copy running which is the default.

Now reboot to Safe Mode Networking.

Boot to Safe Mode With Networking.

Left Drag mouse and Copy for Pasting all text in the box below. Make sure the slider bar goes to bottom from the @ to the end of the second exit.

Then paste to the black screen of an open command prompt. All may not apply so ignore errors.
Code:
@echo off
cd\

Thx a lot, was able to clean everything. Running free and clear right now.

Just read through some solved threads here in this section on TS and was able to fix everything.

Thx again!
