Have just built a machine with Gigabyte Motherboard and Pentium 3.2 chip. They were shipped to me CPU already installed onto motherboard. The problem I have is that the CPU fan keep turning itself off and on causing the CPU to overheat in turn causing the computer to restart all the time. I am in the process of removing the heatsink/CPU etc and reinstalling it. What else can I do. The power supply seems ok. Am lost for answers please help.

Thanks

Most likely the CPU shifted during transport. Reinserting it and refastening the CPU-cooler will most likely cure it. Check that the CPU-fan is attached all the way to the proper header.
Make sure you use a good thermal paste between CPU and cooler.
