Product Key question

I have a CD with XP Pro on it so I took CLEAR pictures of the Product Key because it was asking for it yet when I typed it in, it told me it was incorrect, why? It still installed thou, kinda crazy.

Typically, 0 and O. Often, 1 and l. Sometimes, 2 and Z.
If still an issue then call Microsoft for authentication.

I used to occassionaly run into that when the disc was OEM & the key retail, or vice-versa.

I downloaded XP Pro off the MS website for another pc I had. Now I'm having a headache working on an emachine

I used to really like emachine-- they had the least bloatware installed, iirc.

Yeah Retail and OEM difference, I can remember having the same issue. I had the Retail downloaded and had to edit the Retail ISO to create an OEM ISO. I thought it was stupid at how there was only one file difference between them.
