Question about a used Dell

So far I've had no major issues with my XP Pro I'm on now with the default firewall so I'll probably just use the windows firewall on it.
For an AV, I'll go with Avast.
I've been told SpywareBlaster is a "must have".
I might add, this Dell (when it arrives) will be used to get a W7 tower "re" adjusted to my liking. (The original owner is legally blind & color blind"). Then I plan on using it for a jukebox so It'll only be online a limited time, hopefully.
But thanks for your input jobeard.(y)

You could toss a large hard drive in it and use it as a backup server.. This could be done easily with Windows Home Server. Or somewhat less easily, but free with a Linux or BSD based solution.

Sir, I appreciate the thought, but that is so wayyy over my head & probably financial situation too.
I do eventually intend on removing the hard drive from the pc I'm on now (XP Pro), probably the ram too.

Fair enough, but I doubt it would be any more complicated than what you tend to make things concerning malware, av, and browser security :p

Well, as far as browser security, I've been using Portable apps version of SeaMonkey & Firefox for a few months now so no need to install any browser.
I may just end up using my current pc, XP Pro, to get the W7 set up for me. When/if the Dell shows up, I'll find a use for it. Thanks for your input.(y)
