Recycle bin

  1. This is really a dumb question but I will ask any way also probably an easy one. I can not get the the recycle icon off my screen at startup everything else on there I can right click and get rid of. When I right click on trash bin there is no delete option. Thank you. The OS is XP.

    right-click the desktop and choose properties. In the pop-up select desktop tab and click on 'customise desktop' You will see you can select on or off for 'my documents', 'my network places' and 'my computer'. Recycle bin is not there.

    That is a clue to the fact that removing it is not an option. There may well be obscure ways to do it, but sooner or later disabling that funtionality will probably come back to bite you.

    Recommend you leave well alone.

    Why would you like to delete Recycle Bin?
