  1. Roboscan has not been updated since 2013, but the virus definitions have update on 9/03/15. Is it safe to use even though the program has not updated but the virus definitions are being updated ? Thanks.

I know nothing about the program but some go along time between program updates but the virus definitions still work.

Hey learninmypc, so do you think it's safe to keep using it, or do you have any suggestions on a good lightweight free AV ?

I know SpywareBlaster isn't an AV but it kept updating its database so IMHO I'd say keep using it.
For an AV, I use Avast , but to each their own. :)

Thank you learninmypc. It's actually a friend of mine that is using Roboscan, I use Bitdefender Free on one pc and the other has Bodhi Linux running on it and that os warnings me if there is malware or viruses ahead, to leave now. Thanks again.
