This link below is brilliant speech in April 2022 - well respected St Petersburg Old Guard - apparently his fame protects him ( plus this was way before special operation )
to be honest ... you could predict an hot war since 8 years ago.
People shall get informed instead of following propaganda:

I love how you put Big Tech in all capitals and the word misinformation in quotation marks. Telltale signs of someone who's on a steady diet of Fox News and right wing media nonsense. Anyway, Putin does not use social media, and if he did it would be something that is controlled by the Russian government and not something like Twitter or Facebook. So your comparison is way off.

They didn't just ban the Orange Conman all willy-nilly. He was warned literally hundreds of times to stop spreading lies and misinformation. The more he was getting warned the more he kept doing it, because hey he's the president and rules don't apply to him! Then he got banned from Twitter for 24 hours as a final warning. As soon as that ban expired he went right back to it and got permanently banned within hours.

But of course it's all Big Tech's fault right? Apparently republicans think that "free speech" means you can lie with impunity 24/7 and no one can say anything about it, but only as long as you're a republican. By the way, how is that new Truth Social (absolutely hilarious name btw) site coming along? Last I heard it crashed literally within an hour of its debut. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll iron out the bugs at some point and your Tangerine Messiah can get back to trying to break the record of most lies in a 24 hour period.

I love how you put "free speech" in quotation marks, a telltale sign somebody is a liberal that openly advocates freedom but at the same time vouches for censorship of individuals or groups of people.

Oh and before you start, I'm not American. I personally find it hilarious to view republicans and liberals go at each other like prepubescent children or in many ways like cultists.

Personally I would very much like the US to be cut off from the rest of the world, the amount of degeneracy and incessant woke-ism European/Asian countries copy-paste from the US is abhorrent and it's only becoming worse. Groups of people that had no qualms living amongst each other for many centuries, suddenly lashing out at each other because news outlets in Europe copy/paste the garbage that the US media puts out is plain stupid.

A man can dream, right?

That's factually incorrect. Independent news and media still thrives in the US and Europe. Not doing too well in Russia, funny enough!

The same could be said for wester people. Point finger at the east instead of their own leaders.

Nope. We go to the poles and elect new leadership. Not in the least bit interested in the East. Unless of course some despotic lying crazy dictator starts blowing up innocent people for no good reason.

Quite often they post articles while referencing/citing foreign media as the source, where these news agencies reports news happening in the country they're based in themselves but simply copy-paste and translate either complete articles or portions of it in regards to foreign media.

"Independent News" as you state is more so to state the news agency is free from Governmental or corporate influence. However you seem to lack the understanding to figure out that talking points in the US such as LGBT/Transgender/Non-binary/Race related issues are massively blown up and then reported by pretty much every news agency in the US, Independent or not. Which then in turn gets copy-pasted in our media and suddenly becomes "big news" in my country, despite my country having far less of these issues in general.

My country is one of the most liberal/free countries in the world in regards to these subjects, with far fewer incidents happening related to it, but thanks to these news reports coming out of the US, suddenly we have massive problems in regards to these things in our country as well.

In reports regarding Civil Liberties my country scores 58 points out of 60, whereas the US scores 51/60 points.

"Do various segments of the population (including ethnic, racial, religious, gender, LGBT+, and other relevant groups) have full political rights and electoral opportunities? 4 points out of 4

Marginalized groups participate freely in the political process. Several political parties specifically cater to the (perceived) interests of religious groups or ethnic minorities. Underrepresentation in politics of persons without higher education is sometimes identified as a problem."

On the same talking point the US scores a 3 out of 4.

An example of a randomly translated article:

Although Ellen DeGeneres normally closes her daily talk show with "be kind to each other," those words have been questioned for several weeks now. The presenter is under fire after a number of (ex) employees spoke negatively about Ellen's diva behavior.

>>>>> This is reported by various American media, including Us Weekly.

This is just one of the many articles that comes by on (one of) the most popular news site in this country.

Putin and his oligarchs have siphoned off most of the profits from Russia's oil wealth.
And they have spent a seriously huge amount of it buying the most expensive properties in London and donating to the Conservative Party. London has long been the money laundering capitol of Europe. The only reason for Brexit was Russian money backing the campaign of lies that fooled 52% of the voters. EU was getting closer to closing a financial loophole that allowed this laundering to go on.

Fresh outta oven: Morgan Stanley estimates Russia to become insolvent by April 15th. But I guess QuantumDude knows better.
I have serious doubts about Russia becoming insolvent even within the next three years at least. They have been coining it lately by supplying 40% of Europe's gas in an ever rising market and Russia has also been one of the top four suppliers of wheat and vegetable oils in the world. They have been making so much loot Putin has no idea what to do with it all. He hasn't been getting rubles in exchange has he? No, he's been getting US dollars. If/when the "western" sanctions bite him in the butt he will fall back on his cosy relationship with China. They need plenty of gas to run their industrial machine and their power stations. The only hope for this worldwide mess is that the ordinary Russian man in the street wakes up to what is going on. Its a thin hope given how he is brainwashed from childhood and kept in line with an iron fist.

Well that was some ramble to make a point about absolutely nothing? So news sites swap banal stores? So what? They've done that for years, it's fine, you don't have to read about Ellen DeGeneres if you're not interested.

LGBT/Race being over blown? Wow, now that was priceless. Coincidentally, I just got back from an amazing LGBT Wedding today. Wouldn't have happened had the media not understood that it matters. A lot. To a lot of us. I think you ought to check your own "understanding" before you lecture the rest of us.
