Sims 2 issues with Windows 8

Hi Folks,

so ive managed to download the Sims 2 plus all the expansions to my windows 8 computer using MagicIso and PowerIso.

All has gone well and then when I try to start the game I get a pop up saying my machine doesn't have Direct x9 so I cannot run the game..

Why would you need to use a virtual disk (power ISO) if it's a legitimate copy?

Hi it's not legit copy!

I did buy all the sim games once upon a time on my older laptops, and between moving house 2x I've 100% lost them
*crys*

But In not prepared to re-buy them tbh.

Anyway if you can help then ild be super grateful?
