I do not think that people are directly blaming him.
I think it is other hackers who are ticked off about the whole law suit that went on against him. If that is the case, then I do not think that the hacker(s) does not really care about all the users data but wants to compromise Sony and make the users lose trust in them and maybe quit using thier products and services.

Also what is with all the Guests!?!?!? are these banned users or just people wanting to be annoying? XD

Ok, first of all for those people saying "luckily i bought an Xbox," you should stop saying that. It can create a console war here really. Second, this way damn too long for the people at Sony to fix PSN and this damage was caused by a single-handedly 19 year old hacker(so I've known..correct me if I'm wrong). Really man, 70 million hacked accounts?how the hell did a one man hacker hacked 70 million accounts in 1 day?or was it a few days and Sony just sucked at detecting him hacking into PSN.

This is really burning us gamers. No online gaming for more than or almost a week? Isn't that the main purpose of buying PS3? Playing online with other people. Plus PSN got hacked at a really great time which was EASTER! -_-" and now its still on going. :) Sony, you guys have to step up man. We are really running out of patience here. Well, I am running of patience.This is taking WAYYY TOO long. I understand that you need to upgrade PSN systems but does it really take this long? Can you at least tell us an estimation of time when will this upgrading finish and when will PSN be online again? This is also making Sony lose PS3 users' trust!
 
With the trouble Sony has been having lately with it's console buisness and other markets as well, I wonder if this could be Sony's last console. I've even wondered at times if Sony can last another decade in buisness period. The Sony name just isn't what it used to be IMO.
 
This is karma Sony. Better see how much you have left on credit with Judge Spero if you want to get out of this mess.
 
it looks like playstation is a brilliant console but lacks online services and xbox is a bad console ( it had a 50% failure rate at one point) but good online . Ps3 cost more but online is free xbox costs less but online is subscribtion based. Guess you get what you pay for eh?
 
Looks like i'm going to xbox. Sony is terrible. Their connection is terrible. We get map packs always a month late to xbox. Sony doesn't have Halo. Now all our information is hacked by some looser nobody. Only good thing about sony is we can play for free :). When its working. :)
 
psn doesnt fail that much guys c'mon and everyone who is worried bout your password or credit card should know there are 75million people to choose from dont think it has to be you........but yes im pissed and sony is gonna lose a few hundred users
 
Glad i play PC, i dont pay for playing online (xbox) with kids, and im not getting hacked :D I can sit back and enjoy looking at little ps3 kids crying because they cant play their Call of Duty... So Funny!
 
I just wanna play some games :(

I been playing PC games, finished sanctum, Boaderlands Alien vs predator and playing through Singlarity, I only game online on PS3 all Single player games PC!
 
Hey everybody thought I would put a comment up. SCE I would just like to thank you for your network's epic ****ing fail lol XD. User accounts have been compromised and a lot of people are not happy with the reaction to the supposed "external intrusion". They say nothing is free and it has its consequences and this case being funding for your network capabilities and employee training.

SCE Hacked = Human Error
 
sony need to do something big to earn peoples trust back! or me and im sure others will go back to xbox's!
 
why is everyone blaming the hotz guy who hacked the ps3 itself? this hack has nothing to do with hacking the ps3 itself.

this was a hack performed on the servers that the online service is hosted on, the servers that are located in a secure data center. it has nothing to do with hotz or anyone else involved with the hacking of the ps3's physical firmware/hardware.
 
First of all, when you are describing something that belongs to another party the correct spelling is their, NOT they're. Second... Consoles suck compared to PC's. End of discussion.
 
man i have to say im not to happy with the lack of consideration ps3 is showing us (the consumer the only reason i know psn is down is because i googled it! the amount of times ive put my name address phone number in youd think theyd of got a sry for the inconvenience msg to me 1 way or another. letaloan a date when psn might be up and running again,the truth is, so many people suffer unnessacerily that if maybe for a few days someone can get a bit of happyness in their life for once then they can have my details and try and live as me !theres plenty to go round on this earth! i share if ive got nothing, not to mension if i had millions! id never sit with a million pound in my bank knowing people can change their world with but a fraction of a fraction of that!yea anyway dont get down people as carp as things seem you have a roof and a PS3 witch will ineveitably be back online soon enough take a moment to think about those who struggle just to eat daily . we could all sell our ps3 and start a global charity for world unity then when everyone is ok we could unite for a mega uber space program those who wish to do so can traverse into space as a resource miner,explorer ,earth guards (for meteors, import an stuff)all that jazz! id stay here on earth and live in holland nursing the world back to good health! PEAS :)
 
oh btw i cant access my email cause its been suspended i put me email on facebook as a contact,years ago and havent been able to access my emails since but i know i put my name address phone number in psn but no msg or phone call from them ? its been like 3 weeks ive been offline! think your black op king? 1v1 then when psn is back on? or a team game ? "Wisebud420" 18+only please, as im 30+!! Me an DnB will ruin you! or be your favorite team mates :D ps ive had both PS3 and XBOX360 and generaly i love online play with mates on either machine i kinda thought xbox was better than ps2 but i have to say i think ps3 have the edge on the 360 but to be able to game at all is a marvel!i think Sony and Microsoft need to join together and unite the world MICRONY needs to be born !
 
I feel like someone i added as a friend is trying to hack me. So as a result of this nuketown and radiation on the game Black Ops freeze up my ps3 to where i can't even play td or search and destroy on them. I contacted psn via phone about a password change and they helped me with that incident, however, it didnt help with the hacker issue. Im posting this to simply ask the psn for help and assist me on fixing this on black ops because i love playing on both maps that i mentioned. Thank you.
