Can anyone tell me which driver I need and where to download it from?

Everything looks like it shoud work. Do you have a little speaker icon on the taskbar by the clock? If you do, make sure there's no red line though it. Make sure your speakers are plugged into the right spot in the back or front of your computer. Usually the speaker port is colored green, but not always.

You would Google search for "Creative ES1373 sound drivers", and make sure you pick the one for YOUR Operating System. XP, Windows Me, Windows 98SE, etc.

Yes, thank you! So it doesn't really matter if I installed a Win2000 driver, though I have WinXP, right?

    No,
sometimes for XP, Windows 2000 drivers are the only ones available. Whatever works... is good
