I'm scanning my desktop (I use both interchangably daily) to see if there is a problem there too. shall I continue in this thread, or start another thread. There are many times, on the desktop that I'm unable to open WSJ articles (ones I generally open daily), and the IE freezes. especially with pdf files. shouldn't happen, this is fairly new, 6 mb ram, lots of memory.

I tried to make another contribution, but paypall (even though I use it to sell our excess books), didn't allow me to use another credit card, but I'll try again.

As for your other issue...

In this forum, we make sure, your computer is free of malware and your computer is clean
Because the access to malware forum is very limited, your best option is to create new topic about your current issue, at Windows section.
You'll get more attention.
