    Dear Sir or Madam,

I recently updated to Windows 8 and just now have gotten a pop up that ran a System Repair on my computer identifying many corrupt files on C: and D: drives.

    System Repair
    SVChost.exe Corrupt Disk
    Explorer.exe Corrupt Disk

Windows Read Errors (popups that keep appearing in succession

Thank you for taking the time to evaluate my situation.

    Sincerely,

    Jack

See if you can boot into SAFE MODE (boot time, strike F8 1/sec until you see the list->Safe Mode
    • now get a command prompt (search CMD and hit enter)
    • type CHKDSK C: /F /R
if this is a laptop, be sure you have A/C cord attached - - this can run for a VERY LONG TIME - -
do not interrupt or terminate it while running

Thank you for your input. I have solved the repair with the help of the virus/malware forum.

I still have an issue with typing and the cursor moving around while typing text. It makes it very difficult to type.
