Well when I was playing Mathew / Relic / Buger were around.

Including myself, there were at least eight TSers when I checked around 30-60 minutes in. We always play TF2 on a public server though so the slots are full. The unfortunate nature of that is we can't easily tell who's from TS and who isn't as most people have really obscure names. Nonetheless, I thought the public players we had last night were well mannered. If you want a game with purely TSers, hop in L4D2 with us.

Just a heads up for everyone. We'll be playing the Battlefield 3 beta as part of tomorrow's Friday Night Fragfest. Additional details will be posted on the front page tomorrow night, but there's not much to know. If you intend to join, we'd recommend installing the beta as soon as possible and you might want to update your graphics drivers (AMD, Nvidia).

Cool! Just a few questions, where si the TF2 server located? -In the us I guess so the ping for European users will be 100+ (depending on the users connection and location).
If there are many from Europe that would be intrested in the event (like me) and for who the time and ping bothers then there could maybe be to events, one American and one European. Or what do u guys think?

P.S. here is my steam profile, for those of you who play TF2 24/7 and want some backup, add me :D

I regularly play on the US servers DjKraid, and while the ping is high, it doesn't affect gameplay in my experience. I rarely have issues anyway. :)

My brother is able to join in with a 1.5MB internet connection as well, so its not usually too bad. :)

I'll have to try and get on but have to go for a few drinks with colleagues after work, so might not make it on. Otherwise I'll be on Steam looking for some BF3 fun and I'll bug Leeky for details ;)

I'll likely sit this week out unfortunately. On the very lowest resolution and settings I'm not even getting ~15FPS, and totally its unplayable. :haha:

Guess I'll be waiting a couple of weeks until I can order a GTX570 before being able to enjoy it. lol.

haha! nice ;) what graphics card are you using? My GTX 260 is fairing up ok, even if I do have to lower some settings :)

I'm using my backup HD3650 at the moment, so kind of understandable really when you look at the recommended spec's for the game.

No matter, I'll have my new GPU soon, and maybe an upgrade to Sandybridge at the same time.

I'll sell you pair of 5850s when the AMD 7000 card range comes out ;D

    So tempting! :haha:

I was planning on ordering another GTX570 down the line, and asking one of the team here to send me a FSP Booster 450w from Newegg.com to power it.

Ideally I need the GPU ASAP, then I'll in all likelihood upgrade to Sandybridge, then get the 2nd GPU and booster PSU. I'm hell bent on either 2 high res displays, or triple 27" 1920x1080 affairs, so I'll be needing the power later on if I wanna try triple display gaming.

A few of the guys think I should wait out the HD7xxx series launch though, so might try and hang on if I can manage it.

With sporadic participation through the holidays and shortly after, we've mostly been playing TF2. I intend to get a 4v4 of L4D2 going this Friday and six slots are filled for certain. I figured I'd post a notice before individually inviting folks for the last two spots. Ping me on here or Steam if you're interested in playing.

Cool, I haven't been able to join you guys (guess getting married isn't that easy as I thought :p ) ... but I would surely try to be on steam for some time during this weekend :)
  16. Matthew TechSpot Staff Posts: 5,893   +53

Awesome. Even if you miss Friday night's event, I'm down for a few games with you over the weekend. Congrats on the marriage.

    Thank you :)

Indeed, I haven't played TF or any other game for that matter in months ..... so I am sure I'll be a much easier target

Everyone's a target with my flame thrower! :haha:

    @Leeky
Noted with concern, I wonder if they have 'ice packs' as an available option

Oh and I forgot to tell, I will be playing from my notebook, another disadvantage .....
