That's true, but then again that's why there is a "kick vote" :D or then just "server change" just to get TKed by some other noobs :/
But there are still good bf2 players out there :)
do you play it at all anymore (or how ever that's supposed to be said)? -or what do you play nowdays?

I can't change servers, because I live in Israel and there is only 1 Israeli server running BF 2 and if I have only a few servers that I can play on without being kicked for high ping! :(
usually my ping on foreign servers is about 180...
I have a ping of 90 on some UK servers but that is rare...
I don't play it any more, I used to play Project Reality mod which is one of the most amazing mods (Even games) ever... It is better than BF 2 it self! It had only mature players, Most servers had rules that you must have a microphone to be in the server, All squads were full of team work and it was really fun, I used to stay up playing till the morning, But the curse of noobs came to it now!
When a jet crashes you have to wait 20 minutes for it to respawn, but noobs started taking jets and crashing them when they are landing and it got boring for me.
Now I mostly play Battlefield Bad Company 2 for the PC and I play MW2 sometimes.
BTW: I am a huge fan of the Battlefield series, I have every Title including its expansions!
But Battlefield 2 is the game I will tell my grand children about :p

    True true...god damn noobs :( Can't you get a better internet connection/speed..?
I have played bf2 for ~10h now but then again I started with bf2142 (btw what do you think of that game?). do you play it at all..? It would be nice to find someone that would be in to team-play again :)
  4. Punkbuster Newcomer, in training Posts: 16

I did get a better connection, I had a 4MB internet with a lot of security.
I upgraded to a 5MB now with minimal security but still, It didn't help a lot...
BF BC 2 is the same, I can play on a few servers without being kicked for ping, I always have 200+ ping while all others have 100-200.
I install BF2142 once in a while, But I play for like 2 days and I get owned and get bored of it, I didn't like it a lot (Although back when I first got it I used to play like 24/7!)
After BF2, no good game came out TBH...
I miss the old games, The latest games are only about money not quality.
With all those console games, They ****ed FPS gaming for good!
FPS is made for PC players!

one of my worst recent purchases was New Vegas... damn that game is buggy!!

Black Ops is good though, but i didn't like shelling out $60 retail so it's not one of my best
  6. DjKraid TechSpot Enthusiast Posts: 551

then you haven't obviously played Fallout 3 :D anyhow the only bugs I can find are invisible walls and some texture fails like floating rocks and enemies falling down trough the ground in VATS. Otherwise I think the game is great! :)

    What more is there??

oh i've played FO3... and it was the same deal. guess i was ignorant in thinking they would fix most of the bugs which for me is countless CTDs and the occasional freeze-up. sometimes Fallout 3 would lock up my computer completely forcing me to do a hard restart. New Vegas hasn't done that yet, but the problems I am facing are still a bit frustrating. bethesda's engine is just buggy, and i know it's not my hardware because i've tried multiple configurations and operating systems.
  8. DjKraid TechSpot Enthusiast Posts: 551

True...Fallout 3 was really buggy, I had sh*t loads of CTDs and BSODs and random freezes...especially when I killed the "wrong" person or a main story character by "mistake" but now in Nev Vegas ppl only get unconscious or then there is always an other way to end the game.
The only real "problem" that I have had with New Vegas is that when I installed it it didn't install directX so I had to do it manually and then the first time when I wet to talk to the Brotherhood of steels "elder" it always crashed but that was fixed by loading the game again from a previous save.

I'm pleased to say that I've had very few issues with FO3 or FO:NV. A freeze once every 10 playing hours or so, and maybe a graphical glitch here and there, but nothing I would consider major. Especially for the size of the games.

My best game purchase was probably Asheron's Call, one of the first MMORPG's on the market. I would also say Silent Hunter 3. Both games I put an insane amount of time into and got the biggest bang for the buck.

I've probably played more StarCraft: BroodWar and StarCraft 2 than anything else, so I suppose they rank as my best game purchases in terms of money spent:time invested.

In 2010, after purchasing Mass Effect (1) in late 2009, from the local gaming-guru, I was so satisfied with it that I wanted to play the sequel as well. I had been a regular customer at the guru's since 2006, thus the guru considered me a good customer. Alas, after ordering ME2, it got delayed for four weeks! And in order to keep me satisfied as a regular customer, I got a 99% discount on the following bundle:

    Mass Effect 2
    Prototype
    Fallout 3
    Prince of Persia (2010)
    Spore

    Felt good.
Loved (still love) all of those - but it took me 5 months to figure out how to even start ME2 (look up "-nomoviestartup ME2" on Google - and you'll know what I mean), and my sound card does not support Prototype - thus I do not have any audio at all when playing it...
  15. teklord TechSpot Enthusiast Posts: 523

Prototype has a lot of sound card problems. Basically, if you don't go Creative X-Fi, you don't get full support in games.

Borderlands is a great game and the DLC or the GOTY version is a must.

I've been getting some great deals off of Steam. Oblivion is 10 dollars now, got it at 15 dollars unfortunately. BFBC2 for $6.50 was utterly awesome. I'm driven to get to lvl 50 now. GTA IV complete series is $10. UT series is $15.

All time for me would include Super Mario Bros. 3, Legend of Zelda on NES. Strider on Genesis. The king is probably Super Metroid on SNES.

Oh yeah, some nice taste there matey.

Hmm..Speaking of Genesis, i'll bet nobody played Starflight for the Genesis here on Techspot eh?. Caw, that was a great game, the time i spent on that as a kid was crazy.

Definately one of my top games ever.

    Diablo 1 & 2

    Left 4 Dead 1 & 2

    Neverwinter Nights

In terms of money-time value, it has to be:

    Quake
    World of Warcraft
    EverQuest
    Championship Manager

Last year, the game that held my attention the most was Dirt 2 (even with the annoying *****s crashers in the full-contact online circuit races).

Modern Warfare 2. It is the only game i actually enjoy playing, and i have clocked about 500 hours so far.

    Hello there,

I have purchased a lot of games since my first game Project IGI. There are a lot of collections of games such as Total Overdose, need for speed (3 series), godfather2 etc. I also purchased recently World of warcraft which is a role playing game. With that I have purchased an ultimate game card. The UGC is for playing online games.

    Thanks,
    - Chris.
