The Best Gaming Laptops 2023: Gaming on the Go

I think one of the best options is to buy a very good thin laptop with an AMD chip so that the iGPU is pretty decent and to use an eGPU over Thunderbolt. Brand could invest more on an even faster Thunderbolt for more eGPU possibilities. If you are using the laptop to game, what better than an eGPU connected to a monitor?

Always liked MSI's budget gaming laptop line (GL / GF / GK / Gwhatever).

Cheap, expandable, discreet GPU with reasonable level of cooling, clean generally mature styling.

They also tend to come with 1080P screens, which IMO make more sense on a 15" laptop and don't drive up performance requirements unnecessarily.

You can set 1920x1080 on 4K laptop screen just fine without noticing much difference if it was 1080p native, since direct scaling of pixels and small screen making that shrink unnoticeable. Don’t know about power draw though, but my guess modern 15.6 4K panels eat less than old 1080p, OLEDs even more (use black background wallpapers for that). Last and foremost, you still got that crispy 450ppi panel for old games.

But hey, who cares about 15 panels at all, when you got to get some 30”+ for true experience?
