I was nervous getting the 5 because I thought it was too big. I accepted it but prefered the 4Ss size.

Sounds to me they should have also made an iPhone 6 the size of the 4S. There is no positive gains in alienating those who prefer smaller screens.

all hardware is not created equal, and if it is, is can have drastically different performance dependent on the software running it.... and you don't mean an "android", you mean a nexus, phones comparable to the iphone 6 are all the same price AND bound to the same contract terms.

I was talking about phones like the OnePlus One or the Xiaomi Mi4 which cost that much without a contract and are amazing. you can get better phones for 150-200$ than the iphone 6, contract free, quality builds.

Actually cheapest iphone is on AT&T Next plan. $0 down. I only paid the tax of $81. My monthly bill I get an additional 39.59 added. It equals in 24 months the total cost of phone $950. Carriers are just cutting out subsidies. You can't go wrong with Next. I got the plus with 128 GB storage. you can make double payments to payoff the phone quicker. The other neat advantage is if apple releases a better version next year. I can trade in long as my 6 plus isn't damaged or broken. It has to be in brand-new shape. Its a great deal guys. Don't listen to the bs articles about its a scam. Those articles are all old and outdated.

Well do that.. No one is putting a gun to your head and saying buy the superior phone. I have a 5 it's just as fast as the 5S just doesn't have the bells and whistles like it, but it's just as fast. I opted for the 6 Plus because I'm due for an upgrade from my 2012 plan 2 year agreement. I now opted for the Next program as well. Single line and no unlimited data ties to worry about. It's really cheaper in the end on Next. I didn't have to do a activation fee or anything, not to mention any money up front like 300 or 500.

god dam, americans are getting scammed the hell out of their money by mobile companies and ISPs.
here in Romania, I can get unlimited national/international calls for 10$ or cheaper (it also has internet but I can't remember how much is included, around 500MB). I also can get 1gbps fiber unlimited internet for 18$ (it includes a free 3G USB modem with a sim card that I can also put in a phone with unlimited internet). Couple that with an 150$ Xiaomi Hongmi smartphone or any other good cheap dualsim smartphone and you start to see the difference.

oh yes, but isn't it under special conditions with invite and draws to get one? And the Xiamomi is not availible in USA and Canada, and then even then, cost is not for hardware alone, its the user experience. Lots of people would pay simply to use an OS they were comfortable with using. So if you factor in hardware + the user experience + features of the OS, then you looking at the over all value. In most cases, its not hardware alone that makes people buy with any type of product. Example, look at this forum... many claim they wouldn't use and iphone even if it was free.... the reverse works too where many would gladly pay 2X the price of the same hardware if it had IOS... individual usability and preference matter more then hardware.

true, but as you've seen, unless you buy it cash down you end up paying 3-4 times more which is just too much in my opinion just have a "better experience" which is usually very subjective.
as for availability, importing them from overseas is very easy. it costs around 20$ if you want it to come in around 1-2 weeks or free if you can wait around a month. I live in eastern europe and I had no problem buying from china or the UK (some chinese websites have warehouses in the uk or other parts of the world where they keep popular products).

Good reasons to get the 6+ if you can stand having a large phone.
I prefer having the phone fit in my pocket and not feel uncomfortable.
Most of my customers also don't want the plus due to the size.
I'll be very curious to see how well both sell over the next 6 months as both options have validity.

This is at last the proof! iPhone users have bashed, over and over, Android and WP users for having big screens. I have heard the argument countless times, that the iPhone has just the right size to fit in your hand and that the others are just stupid to have big screens And guess what? Just when Plus comes along, these same people go and buy it - except for a few die hard fans that is at least consistent.

This is just so funny. This proves that they will defend the iPhone no matter what!

It's only the IPhone users that defend our current President the same way. The rest of us will buy based on personal taste instead of media programing.
