The GeForce GT 710 can run Horizon Zero Dawn pretty well -- at 72p

I gotta admit, that made me !

I was thinking more like this:

Are you kidding me? Not everyone is Mr Moneybags, able to upgrade anytime a new card comes out. People buy what they can afford. I bought a 2070 Super July 2019 as the release coincided with my annual bonus, it's gonna last me for 3 years at the very least, hoping for 5 years. Before that I had a 970 purchased Dec 2014,

I really doubt you will get 5 years out of a 2070S unless you play at 1080p and are ok will low setting in next few years, that 8GB of memory will probably be a handicap very fast

"QUANTUMPHYSICS"

You'll sometimes find him on news articles about techs hortages or new releases talking about the consoles he bought for his nieces and nephews, or his multiple geforce GPUs, iphones, ece. The posts read identically to here.

It's funny how he sticks out like a sore thumb. It's like reading a bot programmed by Mr. Burns.

The thing is, other times he talks like a normal person, and occasionally makes good points. It's hard to tell if hes trolling or if he genuinely has more money then sense and brags about it openly online.

Wow, you weren't kidding. He even posts screenshots of his credit score on other platforms.

I'll get by, not precious about 60FPS - I'm partially sighted and don't play competitively, have 4K monitors but can downgrade to 1080p so not an issue.
The only game that hasn't hit 1080p60 is Microsoft Flight Simulation, lawdy that game is a beast.

Same. He needs to be permanently banned. He ruins the atmosphere of the site unless you block him, but when people quote him you still see his nonsense.
Agreed. This is one of the few sites I actually read comments on when I'm interested in the article, and I found I was avoiding the site altogether because of him. Still seeing him quoted is definitely getting old though.
I can be a jerk from time to time, but as soon as you see his username, you know the real troll has arrived.

Only a few months ago I replaced my GTX 960 for a GTX 1660 Super (my CPU is 4790) and only because I was able to get the 1660 Super for $150 due to a credit card promotion. I must say that GTX 960 served me really well for over 7 years and I was able to play any games I bought extremely well. Yes, even Crysis....;)

And I have to admit, I see no major advantage for the 1660 Super over the 960! As a matter of fact, the 960 was literally silent, the 1660 Super fan kicks in occasionally, although not loud. Sometimes I am tempted to sell the 1660 Super and go back to the GTX 960..

The way things are going, I think I am fine for another 3 years. Maybe more. Yeah, Doom Eternal is very playable with either card!

What are you talking about? You only need a 480 at 1080p ax for current games at 60 FPS. It's extremely unlikely something as powerful as the 2070 super would struggle.

The 480 is about 1060 level. The 2070 super is nearly a 1080ti. It'll have no issue maintaining 1440p60 this gen. My vega 64 still managed 70-80 FPS uncapped whiteout an OC fully maxed out, and the 2070 super smokes it. And the 8GB framebuffer has never been close to maxed out.

You guys should really just put him on ignore - all he does is brag about what he has, backs how awesome he thinks China seems to be and ready to put others down to make himself feel better or flex his epeen. I only see his name show up in forms postings now when folks quote his self centered, egotistical filled comments.

As for GPUs, I'm still rocking my 980Ti. I was hoping for a 3070 or 6800, but with how rare they are to find at a retailer and now with the extra 40%+ markup from the original MSRP at retailers, these new GPUs are out of my price range now.

I do have a GT 730 2GB card (one of the 30some different variations of the GT 730 that was released). If I was really bored I could see how well it runs some of these newer games.....eh, but I'm not that bored. I'll just continue to use my 980Ti until it dies or I can finally find a replacement.

But if you ban him you cant dunk on him. Just treat him as the punching bag he is.

He also exists on techpowerup if anyone is interested. He does the exact same shenanigans there, and gets dunked on harder then here.

I thought that name looked familiar on TPU. I put him on ignore there as well due to the stupid comments I've seen him post.

I still get good performance out of my 980Ti on my 2560x1440 monitor. I limit frames to 60fps on the more graphically demanding games I might play and set settings on a mix of medium to high and I get great results. I'm not a graphic wh0re and I play games that interest me. I don't see why a 2070S wouldn't last someone a good 4-6 years at 1440p or 1080p resolution as long as they're not expecting it to max everything out.

There is no need for such drastic action. Some of us enjoy reading banter with popcorn. Of course, I like to warm mine up on a mining rig made out of several GeForce FX 5950 Ultras that has a nice side effect of replacing my heating needs.

Alright guys I think we've established 50% of you laugh that I took the bait and 50% of you hate that I took the bait :joy:
Like TheInsaneGamer says, sometimes he just does normal posts and you can have a normal conversation, its just anytime GPUs or buying shares is involved he gets all high and mighty, (And don't mention Crypto!)

Normally, a raft of certain posts in this thread would be removed (and in some cases, warnings issued). However, in this instance, they will remain for a while in order to remind all such relevant people of the Terms of Use and Community Guidelines:

I know I just started posting and reading here a short time ago but from watching my usual tech sites turn to trash (ahem Toms hardware ahem) and the comments on other sites, I really think this site is pretty tame.
Well if this plays on a gt 710 they should port it to switch. Lol
