I'm trying to fix my brothers Dell Dektop Computer. He accidentally deleted the multimedia audio controller from the add/remove programs in the control panel and now the computer does'nt have sound. The speakers that I use is built in to the monitor Which is a Compaq Q1859 LCD Monitor.
In device manager under 'Other Devices' a yellow "!" appears next to "Multimedia Audio Controller which says I need to reinstall a driver. I have the CD that came with the Monitor but everytime i use it, and click on the "Reinstall Driver" button, a message will show up saying that the software was not found even though i used the same CD to reinstall a video driver.
So, does anyone know how to help me wit this problem ive beenmessing with for hours?
System:
Microsoft Windows XP Proffesional
Version 2002
Service Pack 3
Intel Pentium 2.8 GHz, 512 MB of RAM
tl;dr I deleted Multimedia Audio controller and dont have sound anymore, please help me.
