The Sims 2 failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters?

    i'm not really tech savvy so i'm unsure of what to do now! :/ i've tried multiple things and researched on the subject. i've tried to download new directx 9.0c stuff but nothing works when i go to starting back up the sims 2. i've seen people say uninstall it from add/remove programs but all isee is: cylekx graphics software 3.4
    please help!

    oh p.s i've been using the sims 2 for over 3 years without a hitch, this just randomly happened!
