Laptop: LENOVO 20042
Platform: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (X86)
Problem encountered:
I wanted to update the windows 7. Previously my win7 home premium is only Version 6.1 (Build 7600) but the windows update doesn't work (...service is not running) so I did option 2 following instructions from this site --> https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91738-windows-update-reset.html.
Update still didn't work.
Just installed SP1 following instructions from this site --> https://www.howtogeek.com/255435/ho...l-at-once-with-microsofts-convenience-rollup/
While at step 3, I downloaded the Servicing Stack Update for 32-bit. But the preparation for installation stopped with this error:
"Installer encountered an error: 0x80070424
The specified service does not exist as an installed service."
I also tried updating Internet Explorer 8 to IE11 but encountered the same error. I also tried installing security updates from the Microsoft website but encountered the same error as well.
