Toshiba considering exiting LCD display market

  1. According to a Toshiba executive, the electronics company might be preparing to exit the LCD display market. At a recent financial briefing senior vice president Fumio Muraoka was quoted as saying, "Our LCD display business has been worsening, and we are in very difficult circumstances… We are now discussing all options including withdrawal from the business."

    And i just bought a Toshiba LCD TV . . . Hum. . no wonder it was on sale.
  3. Does anyone else get the feeling that Toshiba has been floundering for a little while now and it's starting to show with this?

    I'm sure the failure of HD-DVD doesn't help with consumer confidence and lets face it, there are a lot of TV manufactures that make very nice LCD Tv's for a lot less than what Toshiba charges.
