Trouble with installing DirectX 9.0

  1. hey i downloaded the directx 9.0 and this box is popping up saying failed to find any directx 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! please make sure you have directx 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provide by the manufacture. the application wil now terminate. please help i havent been able to play the sims 2 double deluxe since i got for christmas!

    Re-read the error message. It is saying you don't have a compatible graphics adapter (i.e. video card) to run the game. It's not saying you don't have DirectX. It also said to install the latest graphics driver. Did you do so?

    If you did, then it would appear the graphics adapter (or graphics card) you are using isn't supported by your game. In other words it is too weak to run it.

    Are you running WIndows XP or Windows Vista (or Windows 7)?

    If it's Windows XP:
    I would first start by finding out your Graphics Card model, and going to that manufacturers website and downloading the latest update for that model..

    If it's Windows Vista (or Windows 7):
    Windows Vista (And Windows 7) come Pre-installed with Direct X10
