    Hello all,

I've been having some problems getting both the Sims 2 and Sim City 4 to run on my new PC. Both ran fine on my old Dell piece of junk and won't load past the splash screen now. I've contacted EA support twice and they aren't helping things, just tell me to update my graphics card driver, which I told them I already did in the original message both times.

Anyway... here are the specs of my machine:

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236)
    Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
    System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC.
    System Model: P5N-T DELUXE
    BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz (4 CPUs)
    Memory: 3070MB RAM
Page File: 702MB used, 2208MB available
    Windows Dir: I:\WINDOWS
    DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
    DX Setup Parameters: Not found
    DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode

    Graphics Card:

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
    Display Memory: 896.0 MB
    Current Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (60Hz)
    Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
    Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll
    Driver Version: 6.14.0011.8048 (English)
    DDI Version: 9 (or higher)

    Sound Devices

    Description: SoundMAX HD Audio
    Driver Name: ADIHdAud.sys

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I should note that, NHL 07 (also from EA in a similar era), Half Life 2, Crysis, COD... all work perfectly at full settings, and the PC never crashes otherwise.

If you haven't already, try installing all appropriate game patches.

yea I did that for Sims 2 atleast, which is the one I'd like to get working the most... but it seemed to do nothing for me.
