Upgrading my PC - novice!

Hi there,

I think it might be time to upgrade my pc if possible? A friend of mine put it together (not from scratch, just major comonents I think?!) back in 2007 and it was pretty good at that point. I only use it for desktop applications, internet and watching movies (I might like to be able to watch them through my tv if I can?).

From what I have seen you need some technical info to help? Here's what I found:

CPU - AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Orleans Socket AM2 (940)
Motherboard - ASUS NodusM with GeForce 6150 chipset BIOS is version 3.02
Memory - Dual DDR2 2048 MB
GPU - NVidia GE Force 6150 LE 256 MB

New motherboard, memory, hard drive, power supply and a TV card is what you need

I'd probably either do nothing or do a full rebuild/ new system (possibly reusing the current HDD, ODD, and maybe the case depending on their specs/interface). By the time you do a serious upgrade(you'd be looking at a video card, RAM, CPU, and maybe more) you would be up to the cost of building an entry to mid level system that would be much more powerful than your current setup.
