  1. any idea what could cause a USB webcam not to be recognized by the computer? All drivers installed. Its plugged into 1 of 2 USB's but have tried it in both.

Running winxp, the cam is a Logitech Communicate STX. Ran the hardware wizard, it didn't locate nor did Logitech's interface.

When you say "all drivers loaded", you mean the Logitec drivers right?
Does the camera need a battery?
    Dead camera or bad cable.

You have DX9.0b or c installed? Those drivers look legit, not sure y they wouldn't work, so I'm still thinking is the cam or cable or you have 2 dead USB ports suddenly.

I have a Logictech camera too, but a different model. I found with mine that I had to install all software and drivers before I plugged in the cam. Did you plug yours in before you installed everything?
