Weekend Open Forum: Do you game on your cell phone?

My phone isn't really capable of gaming... so no I don't.
When I finally get a smartphone, I'm sure I'll download a few free games. I don't plan on spending any money on them, that's for sure.

I'm too old to play on my phone, I barely manage to play on a desktop but my gaming capable smartphone is very useful in every other aspect.Though I'm not a fan of higher resolutions...

I have never played games on my mobile phone. Don't need to when I have PC for playing games. I don't even know what games are on my mob :D

I used to play a lot on my phone. I owned the original N-Gage, and I played a lot of Java games on my Nokia 6120c. However my current phone is a Windows Mobile one, and crap for games, and I guess I'm just in a different stage now. I still think that phones are a good gaming platform, in a similar way to what home computers and PC's were in the 80's. There are good developers who manage to overcome the limited control, small display etc. to bring compelling content.

I only have the default game Bricks on my Blackberry, and i don't play that game much at all... last time I played Bricks was over 6 months ago.

I play games on my mobile, always have, it's where I explore my more 'casual side' Games like Angry Birds, Tetris, Solitaire, Word Feud, Fruit Ninja and other arcadish/puzzle games are great.

Hanging out for Peggle to come to Android - watch out work, productivity will down that day ;p

I play java games on my LGKU380. It is not a great phone and has no real platform. I like playing air-hockey and nascar on it. It is fun when you are waiting or your bored :)

hello ...

i prefer not to have games following me everywhere i go (even if i'm thinking about buying a handheld console in a near future) ... I play enough games when i'm at home.

cheers!

Windows is foolish trying to do so because its own OS lacks a lot of hardware compatibility issue which is putting hardware manufactures into lot of hard work like limitation in HDD ram and many more

I never used to game on my phone until I got a iPhone 3GS, now, its quite nice if your bored at work or just on the train or even on the Sofa as your Girlfriend watches some god awful Xfactor thing (Wanga must die!).

Anyway I play:

N.O.V.A. - Very good FPS that I wish had a PC version or something! and the online Multiplayer is one of the best I have played on an iPhone! Story is also basic but orginal and with noise cancelling headphones on you can actually lose track of time!

Brother In Arms 2 - Also a rather good FPS for the iphone, not as good as N.O.V.A but still if you like your WWII you won't be dissapointed!

Asphalt 5: A rather Neat racing game where to steer you move the whole iPhone. the story mode takes ages to complete and has a rather large amount of cars to unlock. The Online as well is very good over wi-fi and doesn't lag at all! over 3G though, is not so good.Graphics are top notch, the cars are well detailed and upgradeable.

GeoDefense - The most addictive tower defense game I have ever played! it has loads of levels and difficultys but the main thing is the money system to upgrade Towers etc... is done really well and the graphics pop and explode all over the place! would recommend this to all Tower Defense jockeys!

Lastly, but certainly not least, Angry Birds - This game just has this addiction and is very well put together. the physics are very good with no slow down to the game I can find and soo many levels plus the devs behind this game update the game ever couple of months with even more levels!
This is wel worth getting for most iPhone users or at least try it out on the lite version and see if you like it. Also the cheapest game in this list.

So yeah, I play games on my phone :)

Playing games using the cramped keypads of cellphones is real hassle. I haven't tried touch screen phones yet but they're probably better in that respect. I hope that Microsoft at least tries to make Windows Phone 7 devices affordable. After all, they're really late to this party and you can't get mass market adoption if your products are expensive.

The iphone did it.
