Most of the complaints for system mechanic were about it's background services and their related CPU clock cycle consumption. I haven't used the software myself in 8 years but back when I did that seemed to be true.
Yeah part of that was true, one of the lead iolo technicians told me a few years ago when I was on windows 8 in 2012.
Other than that and them reworking the program completely....
Its been pretty awsome lately, it saved my *** back in 2010. when a trojan horse and rootkit infection hit me.
Nearly everything was shot dead in windows 7 including command prompt.
The only thing active was windows explorer which I found odd to be working.
I booted up system mechanic from explorer, told it to do in advance scan and repair, came home later and it was fixed.
However windows 7 ultimate just crashed after 3 days of that chaos.
Mainly the MBR tables were a wreck and quit working from the rootkit infection.
Thankfully I had a trial of eset av, malwarebytes, and kasperky rootkit removal tool.
That was enough to destroy it and do a full clean install to get everything working normally.
