i think it is...even if it costs more money...because the i7 will be better than the curent one which means it will be a long time before you do a cpu upgrade.

well i use ZALMAN CNPS9900LED 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler for my cpu which works wonders for my oc(over clocked-which is basicly making cpu, ram, gpu run faster than the manufacture rates it at) intel core 2 duo E8500. and as for the psu(power supply unit) i think your fine.

ok cool. I am going to get the cpu today :) at 4:00 pm woot woot. They have a powersupply for about one hundred and fifty bucks that I think I may get. It is 100 watts more than what is recommended in the thread.

The Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E7600 (3M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB they say can not be found in my region and it is impossible to get... so i am going with the E7500 I think. Which they do have. I hope it is good.

    Cheers

What PSU are you getting, and from where? I may be able to link you to a less-expensive model of the same or better quality.

Also, I recommend the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 as a cheaper version of the Dark Knight.

I got the processor but its a 7400 rather than the 7600 you guys suggested. I looked everywhere for the 7600 but no one in my region had it. They have a power supply for me that looks fairly nice but please send me the link for the cheap stuff.

The "power supply" they say I should get is the Corsair TX 750watts cmpsu-750TX. I am not sure what all that means but thats what they said it is Mr. Rage_3k_Moiz. :)

I will be getting the powersupply and that (dark knight heat sink- I think) soon so send me those links for the cheaper dark knight and the psu, please and thank you. Then I will put up a picture of the changes. LoL the processor doesnt look very diffrent from my older one. 1 gig faster they say though. I have noticed the speed diffrence big time. much faster :)

    Cheers

The E 7400 is a fine CPU in it's own right. Plus, it will install directly into more boards without a BIOS update. So, while it may not apply to you, people with slightly older mobos, (a year or perhaps more), can enjoy the CPU via plug and play convenience.
Well Gordon, sad but true, as long as it's a LGA775 socket, you turn them upside down and they all look alike.

Hey captaincranky, Unfortunatly they actually had to re-do the bios they said. I guess my motherboard was to out of date. They said my mobo was 1.3 and they updated it to 2.7. I asume that means the drivers for it or whatever. What was really cool is they showed me how to look at the temperature readings for my computer which looks like a heart rate monitor. Bios is cool stuff. You can disable stuff and really tamper with things. Not that I will ever try it. I am going to put in the PSU and heat sinc when I hear back from rage_3k then I will put up a picture of the changes and you guys can tell me what you think.

    Cheers, Gord

It would help to know where you're located so I can give you specific recommendations.

Ok great, I am getting those two pieces as soon as possible. Then I will put up a picture :).

I checked with the store and they say that they have a 'arctic cooler' which is the same as the xigmatek HDT-S1283. Can I go with that or do you think the XIGMATEK is better?

They also have the Corsair GT 750W powersupply but I asked for the one you posted Rage_3k_Moiz and they said that its in china and it would cost to much to ship it. "whatever that means" I think I have to get the 750W because they said they allready ordered it and opened the box. so umm. well. Do you think that powersupply will be good enough for my 32nm i7, mobo, and ram when i eventually pick it up? I trust you guys and if you think buying a 159 dollar powersupply now is a waste becuase I will have to buy a new one when I update (processor, ram, mobo. Then I will deffinatly get the 850W like Rage_3k_Moiz says and pay the shipping fees. BUT:
Please, Please tell me if the 750W will be enough for my next update. I will not buy the power supply if it means I have to buy a new one 3 months from now.

F.Y.I everything that is comming out of my computer is up for grabs. I have no use for the processor, powersupply and shortly when I upgrade again it will be the same thing. If anyone is interested in the pieces let me know and we can figure something out to deliver it to where you may be. I am asking for no money or anything for the processor and powersupply so its up for grabs. When I update again the intel 7400 and the mobo and 3 gigs of ram will also be up for grabs.

    Thanks guys. For everything!

Corsair doesn't make a GT series of PSU.
Unless you plan on going SLI 750w will be enough.
Maybe take a little more time when making post your english is really bad "so umm" and "well" aren't sentences...

    Funny thing is Adhmuz..

No one asked what you think. Probebly because you have a bad attitude.
  13. Rage_3K_Moiz Sith Lord

I think you mean the Corsair TX750, which is a fantastic PSU. It will provide enough power for your system. You can even use two GTX 280s with it without issues IMO.
  14. Gordon9999 Newcomer, in training

Nice.. Hmmm I will look into that. Once I put in this arctic cooler I will put up a picture and then you guys can tell me what you think. I will also be cable sleeving so it looks good.

Thanks again for helping me rage.

It's a forum everyone is entitled to their opinions and post on the forums. I have a TX750 presently and it works wonderfully, for the price its a great deal.

    P.S. I don't have a bad attitude, I just find you amusing :p

K cool, sorry for jumping man. I work 10 hour days and sometimes all im able to type out is chicken scratch. Sorry for everyone who has had difficulty with my spelling/grammar. It is the TX 750 that they put in.

    Cheers

Your not the only one that's amusing with there spelling. I admit that i check my posts or replies 4 times before sending it (really). I'm trying to do something about it now but, sometimes my friends here in Surinam need some laughter;-D. (speaking Dutch, English and Sranangtongo, maybe later Tagalog or Chinese).
I think that even with an 4890 that i now have, your pc will definitly be fast now by the looks of what i just red......
