WhatsApp sets new record of 27 billion messages in one day

    I read somewhere WhatsApp became a paid app. Makes sense seeing how successful it has become.

    As far as I knew its always been paid. You just get the 1st year free then it's 1 or 2 dollars for each additional year. IOS was a one time payment model for life but they changed it to be the same as Android.

    It's free for the 1st year of use. Thereafter you pay but it's very cheap. I don't mind paying for it at all because I use it extensively. It's way better than FB's Messenger app.

    WhatsApp is a paid for app?

    I dunno if it varies by market but I've never paid even a single penny for their app and I've been using it on multiple devices for ages now. Even Google Play lists it as a free app when you visit their app page.

    The record is rather astonishing though!!
