Where are my icons?

my icons have just disappeared and i cannot get them back. my llaptop is a dell inspiron. when the computer boots up they appear and then go away. help!!

scarecrow1 as you have posted here a few times with different issues. It may be best for you to put your System Specs information in your Profile

Do you have a legit version of Windows now? Including the setup disc?

If you right click on the desktop, select "arrange icons by", is the "show desktop icons" checked?
