I removed my old hard drive when it developed a fault and have two problems.

1.) The my documents icon on my screen still targets the old hard drive, I cannot delete it or change the target.

2.) When i try to install programs from .exe files, that do not allow me to choose a target, (most recently i tried msn messenger), they refuse to install saying that the drive is inaccessible.

    Please help,

    thanks

PS. My OS is win 98 SE

There shouldn't be a problem if you put in a new HDD and installed 98 fresh onto that. Or am I misunderstaing you?
