    Hi all...

A friend of mine is tearing her hair out...

Her computer regularly re-boots for no apparent reason with no warning...

I had a look and found that SiSoft Sandra reports the Mobo being a ECS P4X400-8235...

While on the Mobo itself, it states that its a MATSONIC MS9127C...

I was wondering if Windows has incorrectly identified the Mobo, and if so, if this may be causing the re-boots...

If this may be the case, what can i do, as we have no Mobo CD...?

    Cheers in advance.

    Ok....that a bit weird....
have a search around google - see if there any drivers or similar for that specific board.....
is the rebooting caused be a heat problem?....check fans etc.

Matsonic may be selling motherboards based off ECS design. That isn't uncommon, although you've have to look into it yourself to be sure.

I'd suggest finding Matsonics webpage and downloading the latest chipset drivers for that motherboard.

    Update:-
Since we have disabled on-board sound, the problem seems to have gone away... Im trying to persuade her to buy a sound card to install.. It might be easier...
