windows 2000 or xp

  1. i am building a computer and which os do u think i should get..how much better is xp.. thanks any help would be great

    depends on what you plan to use it for.
    2000 is designed for servers. XP is based on 2000 code. Both are good.
    XP is for personal systems.

    Personally I think XP is great. I couldnt' ask for a better setup, but then again I don't go around downloading stupid stuff that could screw everything up. You will find others who say 2000 is better than XP. Really it's a toss up. Go with whatever you think you will feel more comfortable with.

    W2K does not have all this activation/registration stuff.
    It looks less pretty than XP, but is just as good and definitely very VERY stable.

    i like XP better than 2000. I believe it performs better for games and such!
