Windows XP; Boot Up is Incredibly Slow && HP Wireless Assistant Takes Ages to Load

  1. When I start my laptop the blue error message screen tends to pop up and a consistancy test on drive "D" begins almost every time. Furthermore, taskbar items take almost 5 minutes to load, and my HP Wireless Assistant will not even load up for about 10 minutes after start up. This is quite devastating and annoying to me when trying to take care of business and type out a few research papers. I am wondering what I need to do to resolve this problem.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
