Windows XP Home Edition-Get message on startup "auto.chk not found"

  1. Windows XP Home Edition-Get message on startup "auto.chk not found". Does anyone know how to correct this? I'm running an HP a345w that uses the D drive as the recovery drive. I don't want to have to do a full recovery if it isn't necessary.....thanks for your assistance.
