XP Service Pack 3 won't Install

Ive tried several times

and Microsoft Support is not helpful



It seems that Microsoft windows XP home edition, Service Pack 3 wont install

and when i try it asks for the CD which I cant find now(legal copy, pre-installed)



are there any known fixes?

im in the process of cleaning my computer of viruses and malware(computer is idling at 50-70% cpu usage if relevant)

I wouldn't even worry about it, its not officially out yet. Just wait until it comes out at the end of this month.

it just worried me a bit since it prompts me to install it every startup or major system change

What prompts you to install SP3? You shouldn't be getting anything from Microsoft yet as it's not in final release.

Are you sure it's not referring to Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3)?
